Liz Crocker, author of Transforming Memories: Sharing Spontaneous Writing Using Loaded Words recently attended a conference at the University of Iowa called "The Examined Life."
There she presented her workshop, Healing Words: Writing Your Way to Compassion and Health.
She also attended a reading by Jon Kerstetter, who talked about his recently published book Crossings: A Doctor-Soldier Story.
In a recent blog post, Liz writes beautifully about how Kerstetter's book struck her. She reflects on the experience of writing through trauma and how stories can lighten a burden.
If you are interesting in learning more, these are ideas that Liz and her co-authors explore in Transforming Memories.
