Walter St. John, Ed.D.

A retired college professor, Walter St. John taught interpersonal communications skills and presented communications workshops throughout North America for over twenty years. His observation that there was a need for an accessible and useful resource for caregivers led to the development of this book. The methods in Solace were developed in conjunction with extensive research with patients and caregivers.

Ellen Shanley, M.B.A., R.D., C.D.-N., Colleen Thompson, M.S., R.D.

Ellen Shanley, RD, CD-N, MBA, is a registered dietitian and a faculty member in the Department of Allied Health Sciences at the University of Connecticut, where she directs the dietetics program and teaches courses in food system management. Bob Seebohar, M.S., R.D., C.S.S.D., C.S.C.S., is one of the first Board Certified Specialists in Sports Dietetics and is a Sport Dietitian for the United States Olympic Committee where he provides nutrition expertise for Olympic athletes. He is one of the foremost experts on nutrition for endurance athletes and is a regular speaker at many national level conferences as well as triathlon and cycling coaching education clinics.
